Our Directors

Melanie Stevenson is an executive director of Art Therapy4All CIC and founding member of The Art Therapy Agency. She is a qualified Art Psychotherapist a Clinical Supervisor, is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a member of BAAT and the BACP. 

She has worked in Education since 2004 working in various settings including Pupil Referral Units, a Specialist Deaf Unit, with SEND students both in Primary and secondary schools, LAC, as well as working with bereavement, trauma and loss. She also works in Private Practice with young people and adults.

"I feel passionate about young people receiving the appropriate intervention so that they can move forward and have the future they deserve."

She gives presentations and runs Art Therapy workshops the most recent at the Freud Museum in London.

She graduated BA (Hons) Applied Art specialising in printed and kiln formed glass and gained her MA in Art Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire.

Cate Smail is an executive director of ArtTherapy4All and The Art Therapy Agency. She is a qualified art psychotherapist, EMDR practitioner and clinical supervisor, registered with the HCPC and BACP, and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). She is a trustee of the Free Space Arts Project and arts mentor for The Koestler Arts Trust. 

She has experience in a wide range of settings, working with groups (both closed and open studio format) and with individuals. She is currently working with individuals in adult mental health, as well as running groups for dementia clients in care homes. She has a special interest in organising and curating art therapy exhibitions and events.

She originally trained in Fine Art at Central St Martins, gaining her MA in Art Therapy at the University of Hertfordshire. She also has a BA/MA in Art History from The University of Cambridge.

Kim Whatmore is a non-executive director of ArtTherapy4all CIC.
Her background is in charity fundraising and research. Kim 
founded
​the charity 'Opportunities For Women', which was dedicated to
 supporting women in developing countries.
​
She also has done research into how people in the UK
 combine work with caring, and communicating health information to minority ethnic communities in the UK.

​She now spends her time writing and designing gardens.

​Philip Gale is a non-executive director of Art Therapy4all CIC.

He s a qualified Chartered Accountant and business adviser with his own practice, Philip Gale & Co.

He works closely with a variety of businesses and individuals.

​He is an experienced non-executive director and particularly enjoys working with and supporting charities and social enterprise.

Jacqui Temple is a board member of Art Therapy4all CIC.

She has a background in Marketing and Event Management, but is currently studying for an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies at the Tavistock
​& Portman. 

​She was previously a volunteer and Trustee for Home Start Hertsmere and is currently a volunteer Mentor for Hertfordshire County Council specialising in older teens.

Tricia Austin is a board member of Art Therapy4all CIC. 

​She 
is the Course Leader of MA Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

She has lectured on design in Europe, Asia and Latin America and led a number of creative, socially-engaged projects with community groups, other universities and governmental organisations across the world.
